I think this is a different system than the Ferial system that PYW talks about, but....
The Universal 4X4 Color System (16 Seasons)™ 1 . After dividing the color wheel into 4
groups in our previous image now we need to work with Chroma or intensity – the first band of the color wheel. You will find that band one is the purest and the most saturated in color therefore we label them as Pure Colors. In The Universal 4X4 Color System (16 Seasons)™ color wheel you will find
Pure summer, Pure Winter, Pure Spring & Pure Autumn.
Pure Summer is Cool Summer, Pure Winter is Clear Winter, Pure Spring is Clear Spring and Pure Autumn is Warm Autumn.
The Universal 4X4 Color System (16 Seasons)™ 2. Tint - The second band is made up of the Pure Hue + White therefore we label them as Tinted Colors. In The Universal 4X4 Color System (16 Seasons)™ color wheel you will find Tinted summer, Tinted Winter, Tinted Spring & Tinted Autumn. I would say the lightest of Summer, the Lightest of Winter, the lightest of springs and the lightest of Autumn.
Tinted Summer is Light Summer, Tinted Winter is True Winter, Tinted Spring is Light Spring, and Tinted Autumn is Soft Autumn Light.
The Universal 4X4 Color System (16 Seasons)™ 3. Tone - The third band is made up of the Pure Hue + Gray therefore we label them as Toned Colors. In The Universal 4X4 Color System (16 Seasons)™ color wheel you will find Toned summer, Toned Winter, Toned Spring & Toned Autumn. I would say the mid-range of summers or the medium tone of Summer, the medium tone of Winter, the medium tone of springs and the medium tone of Autumn. They are not too light or dark they are not too cool or warm.
Toned Summer is Soft Summer Light, Toned Winter is Deep Winter Soft, Toned Spring is Light Spring Soft, Toned Autumn is Soft Autumn Deep. All Softs.
The Universal 4X4 Color System (16 Seasons)™ 4. Shade - The fourth band is made up of the Pure Hue + blackt herefore we label them as Shaded Colors. In The Universal 4X4 Color System (16 Seasons)™ color wheel you will find Shaded summer, Shaded Winter, Shaded Spring & Shaded Autumn. I would say they are the deepest or the ‘Darkest’ of their group.
Shaded Summer is Soft Summer Deep, Shaded Winter is Deep Winter, Shaded Spring is Warm Spring, and Shaded Autumn is Deep Autumn.

I'm so glad the 4x4 system was made! We kept draping my sister and knew she draped as an Autumn, Soft was too soft, Warm was too warm, Deep was too deep...we couldn't figure it out! Until we discovered Soft Autumn Deep in the 4x4 system!!! It was a total breakthrough. Toned Autumn, it's more neutral, just the right amount of softness, not too warm, not too deep.
