Earlier this month, I was on a business trip with my husband in L.A. It just so happened that it was during that week that Jennifer Butler had one of her monthly free guest events at her home and place of business in LA. Her next guest event is August 6th and then September 4th, refer to her
calendar, which also lists classes she offers. Many of her classes are going to offered online in the future. Right now, the main online service available is the
Design Online.
Since I have been a member of Jennifer's site for some time, and I've watched every single video of Jennifer's that I've been able to find, it was quite fun to visit her house. I was able to recognize the set of many of her videos in her living room and patio, etc.
See quite a selection of Jennifer Butler's video in my earlier posts:

Here's what we wore to the event.
During the weeks prior to this trip, I have been finding myself dressing more and more T4, even though I had been saying that I was a 2/4. So I took the risk and wore a very T4 outfit. I also had gone with Greg to buy some clothing in his body colors shortly before our trip, so he's wearing an outfit from the recent additions to his wardrobe. I thought Greg was a 1/3 for a long time, but had been revising my assessment to 1/2. What was interesting was the feedback we got as part of the guest event experience.
Jennifer uses four pieces of classical music to demonstrate the nature of the four seasons. She then uses group demonstrations to help identify which guests align with which of the seasons. This is not a full assessment of course, but just helps to make concepts visual and experiential.
So the first shocker was when they asked Greg to represent Summer. We were both a bit blown away. But then I realized that he was dressed soft, subtle and blended. Later it was mentioned that he probably is a Summer essence with a Spring temperament, meaning that his Spring nature is an adaptation. I didn't get the sense that one is better than the other (essence vs. temperament), or that you need to live more fully in your essence and get rid of your adaptive temperament. For some people, it just is what is, that your personality (temperament) doesn't actually match up with your coloring.
The second shock was that I was chosen to represent Winter in our little group. And later, we were talking to Jennifer's assistant, Kim, who is a Jeweltone Summer. Standing next to her, Greg was able to compare our levels of contrast and confirmed that I'm much more contrasted. Also, she cannot handle the amount of black that I was wearing.
(So this is interesting. I might be a
Contrasting Imperial Winter, rather than a
Contrasting Azure Summer. That would be in Color Alliance, which is a different system).
We really enjoyed the event.
