Jane I wonder if anyone has experimented with the paradigm of dressing and combining their elements? For example, let's say you have the following characteristics: Natural, some gamine, some dramatic, Type 3, introverted, born under Scorpio and other characteristics.
So you build outfit with the purpose of reflecting "all" the features through the use of fabric, designs, jewelry, accessories. In other words you take all the features you have and with intention set out to dress in a way and with elements that express what you're feeling that day or any day.
Don't you think it would be an interesting experiment to try?
Most of these theorists push their paradigm as the answer rather than showing how to integrate. They want you to build your wardrobe from the dominant type.
But what if you played with inclusion of a little bit of all that reflects your essence? The closest I've seen to breaking away from a standard is Jennifer Butler's technique in that in addition to your body colors she wants people to reflect their natural body texture. But what would happen if you also brought in your moon or sun sign in addition or some other reflection of yourself? That's when it would get interesting and the process becomes artful on many levels.
Any thoughts on this.
Great question, and I might write more about this later, but for now, I'd say that I believe in integrating what works from different systems for sure; That being said, we may be in the minority being interested in pulling in astrology as well. Those interested in astrological fashion aren't necessarily into seasonal analysis or the style types. But I agree that Jennifer Butler is a great example of incorporating color, humor, physical geometry and body type.
