Two draft post were published early by mistake. They're up.

Clear Spring vs. Clear Winter: how do you tell the difference?

If your dominant quality is CLEAR, how do you know if you are Spring or Winter?  and actually Clear means you are either Spring/Winter or Winter/Spring, so which comes first?

Remember two thirds of women are neutral, which these seasons are.

Disclaimer: ideally you should be draped in person

STRIKING SPRING — (Spring – Winter, aka Bright/Clear Spring) medium to dark brunette, root beer brown, black (with warm tones), also blonde or platinum, or silver, gray or white hair. Skin tone is porcelain to dark olive but with yellow (or pink) under base.  Angular, oval or oblong face shape.  Eyes are usually brown, possibly with a yellow marking, may also be shining golden brown or blue with rays or spokes, or yellow marking around starburst, or open space in nerve wreath. (Skin around the eyes will be yellow in Springs).  [spring-winter personality description]

Rose's eye

The STRIKING SPRING (Spring-Winter) looks somewhat like a Firelight Winter.  They can be Classic or Dramatic with the addition of being Creative, which is more fun and flirty, than the Dramatic style of a Winter.  Sometimes a Striking Spring will think they are an Autumn in terms of personality, not understanding the strong duality of their nature.  They may also think they are a Summer because they appear soft without the right makeup on, and both Spring and Winter are caring, when combined this may feel like the Phlegmatic nurturing quality.
Interestingly, at 12 Blueprints it is noted that Bright Spring and Soft Summer have some similarities.

FIRELIGHT WINTER — (Winter with Spring blend , aka Clear/Bright Winter)) Your hair color may be blonde, almost white blonde or light (or even dark) brown, silver or pure white, looking like a Spring, but they have a more aloof Winter air.   They also have Winter contrast. Skin will have strawberry undertone and will have light bisque complexion.  Eyes will have winter spokes, or dark lines around the iris, in sparkling blue, brown, tan, cool blue, bright hazel or gray eyes.  (Skin around the eyes will be grey in Winters).  [winter-spring personality description

The FIRELIGHT WINTER (Winter-Spring) looks somewhat like a Striking Spring, but with more poise and elegance.  Their style may be Alluring Romantic or Creative Classic.  Sometimes a Firelight Winter will think they are an Autumn in terms of personality, not understanding the extreme duality of their energy.

How do Rose McGowan and Sophie Ellis-Bextor compare in cool tones and hues?

The reds, greens and browns are for the main seasons, not specific to the subseason.

A Clear Spring should be best in tints, but second best in hues.
A Clear Winter should be best in hues, but second best in tints.

REDS

Both can wear this bright Spring red tint.

The Winter pure red hue is better on Sophie.

Truth-is-Beauty says hot pink is a Bright Spring dealbreaker, although I'm not sure I agree, I would think a hot coral would be better.

The hot coral is better on Rose.

GREENS

This Spring apple green tint is better on Rose, but both could wear it.

This is pretty close to the electric green that  Truth-is-Beauty has as a Bright Winter dealbreaker.  It is better on Sophie, but both again could wear it.

The darker Winter pure green hue is better on Sophie.

BROWNS

The Spring tan tint is better for Rose.

Both could wear the Winter brown hue, though black is better for both.

CONTRAST: Clear Spring and Clear Winter both have high contrast.

NEUTRALS

Clear Springs can wear black, unlike other Springs (see Spring wearing black). It is debatable whether they can wear stark white.  They wear navy, light charcoal, medium and light gray and peach. They wear TINTS.

Keeping in mind that these are warmer tints, they look better on Rose.

Browns are not the preferred Clear Spring neutral.
Springs need very clean browns and tans and sands made
with high chroma pigments that reflect light.

Clear Winters, like all Winters, can wear black (see Winters wearing black). Stark white is best for Clear Winters.  They also wear taupe, icy pastels and bright navy. in pure HUES.

Keeping in mind these are clear pure hues, they look somewhat better on Sophie.
