In Color Alliance, and it's new names, this is how they view contrast:

Light True Contrasting Vivid
skin Light True Light Light or Dark
eyes Light True Medium Dark
hair Light True Dark Dark

So you could have a light spring, summer, autumn or winter, supposedly.
As well as a true of every season, which I assume is medium, but essentially is the base palette.
And you can have a contrasting or vivid of all four seasons.

Since I am a Contrasting Summer, my light skin, medium green eyes, and dark ash brown hair equals Summer with contrast, not Winter, in this system.  My color palette looks very close to winter, I just don't wear stark white or black.
